VI. I interviewed two individuals to see what their response would be to my (our) plan. Their responses are as follows. Gail Morris(Aunt)-I agree with all terms of your bill, i believe that consumers are being denied their right to information. A slight rise in price is worth it to know what it is that i am eating, i think if they put labels, people who feel strongly about GM foods will not buy them knowing that they are GM foods. People who don't care what they consume as long as it tastes good, wont care about the labels. Joe(dad)- I think that labels would be good but only if it will not raise the price of the items. I know for a fact people will vote against this because there would be a rise in cost. Some companies will lose a lot of business, because people will not want to pay or they don't want to eat "mutant" food.
VII. My (our) answer, based on our research, to their objections and concerns are
We as Americans are being denied the right to information and the fact is without us knowing what we are consuming it could be anything but because the label regrets to inform us of the exactly what it is that is in our food. i guarantee if people knew that their favorite food is one that has some type of genetic material that is unknown, he/she wouldn't eat it again or if they did it wouldn't taste the same.
